FRAME Workflow Studio:
A guided implementation experience for building a cleaner,
more professional SketchUp workflow
Â
By the end of the cohort, you’ll have a repeatable SketchUp workflow you can use
from setup to final deliverables.
What is The FRAME Workflow?
FRAME is SketchUp Trainer’s step-by-step workflow for moving through a project from setup to final deliverables — so you know what to focus on, what comes next, and how to keep your model organized as the work changes.
F — Foundation
R — Repeatable Workflows
A — Approval Views
M — Manage Revisions
E — Export & Deliver
Build a Workflow You Can Use Again and Again
The FRAME Workflow Studio is designed to help you build that process step by step — from setting up your file, to modeling cleanly, to creating approval views, handling revisions, and preparing final deliverables.
By the end of the cohort, you’ll have a clearer way to move through a SketchUp project and a workflow you can keep using after the Studio ends.
Cleaner Setup
Start projects with a more organized structure.
Better Model Organization
Use groups, components, tags, scenes, and styles with more intention.
Presentation Views
Create views that support decisions and client communication.
Revision Confidence
Handle project changes without feeling like you need to start over.
Cleaner Deliverables
Prepare outputs for presentations, PDFs, LayOut, or client review.
A Repeatable Workflow
Know what to do next as you move through real projects.
This is not about learning every SketchUp tool.
It is about building a dependable way to move through a project.
John Michael Nixa, Owner & President, West Side Lumber
"Daniel was a pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He asks all the right questions and ensures you get what you are looking for from his trainings. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking to learn SketchUp."
Why This Studio Exists
Most SketchUp users do not struggle because they are not capable.
They struggle because they are trying to build real projects with scattered lessons, disconnected tips, and no clear workflow to follow.
You may know the tools, but still feel unsure how everything fits together when a project changes, a client gives feedback, or a deadline is approaching.
FRAME Workflow Studio was created to help close that gap.
It gives you a guided way to move through the full project process — from setup to final deliverables — with support along the way.
“I created the FRAME Workflow after years of training SketchUp professionals and using SketchUp in real project work. The biggest challenge I see is that most people are taught SketchUp as a collection of tools. But real projects require a process.”
— Daniel Brown
Meet Your Teacher & Guide
Learn SketchUp from someone who uses it, teaches it, and solves real project problems with it.
Hi, I’m Dan Brown, founder of SketchUpTrainer.com.
For more than 15 years, I’ve helped architects, designers, contractors, educators, and creative professionals use SketchUp with more confidence. I’ve taught thousands of SketchUp users, led college-level SketchUp courses, and built professional workflows for real projects.
I created the FRAME Workflow because most people are taught SketchUp as a collection of tools, but real projects require a process.
FRAME Workflow Studio is my way of helping you build that process with guidance — so you can move through real SketchUp work with more clarity and control.

How the Studio Works
FRAME Workflow Studio is organized around monthly focus areas so you can build your workflow one step at a time.
JULY
Foundation
Setup Standards
Start with a cleaner project setup so your models are easier to organize, edit, and present.
You’ll focus on workspace setup, file organization, navigation, core tools, groups, components, tags, and clean modeling habits.
Â
AUGUST
Repeatable Workflows
Project Recipes
Build models using repeatable steps instead of guessing your way through each project.
You’ll focus on modeling structure, floor plans, room models, 3D Warehouse cleanup, reusable components, and workflows that make your model easier to revise.
SEPTEMBER
Approval Views + Manage Revisions
Decision Set + Update Loop
Create views that help clients, teams, or stakeholders understand the project, then learn how to manage changes without breaking your model.
You’ll focus on scenes, styles, sections, options, presentation views, feedback, revisions, and keeping your file stable as the project changes.
Â
OCTOBER
Export + Deliver
Delivery Pack
Turn your model into clear, organized, presentation-ready outputs.
You’ll focus on exports, LayOut basics, PDFs, client-facing views, Enscape or visual output options, and a final delivery structure you can use again.
Built-in Catch-up Time
The Studio is designed to move at a realistic pace. Each month includes time to catch up, revisit lessons, ask questions, attend Studio Sessions, and apply the workflow to your own projects.
You do not need to complete everything perfectly each week. The goal is to keep making steady progress and build a workflow you can continue using after the cohort ends.
How the Private Studio Sessions Work
Your registration includes two private 90-minute Studio Sessions with Dan.
These sessions can be booked anytime during the cohort and will be recorded so you can revisit the guidance afterward.
Session 1
Workflow Starting Point
We’ll look at where you are now, what kind of projects you work on, what gets messy, and where you should focus first inside the FRAME Workflow.
This session helps you choose the right path through the cohort.
Session 2
Workflow Review
Near the end of the cohort, we’ll review your progress, your file setup, your model organization, your scenes, your deliverables, or whatever part of the workflow matters most for your work.
You’ll leave with clear next steps.

You do not need to learn everything at once. You need a clear process for knowing what matters, what comes next, and how to keep moving when a project changes.
Steven Christopher Carey, 3D Visualizer
"Dan's classes and techniques have been a regular part of my toolbox for the better part of a decade. I've taken 3 multi-week sessions with Dan over the years and each session has upped my game to the next level, really enhancing the quality of the renderings and 3D visualizations I'm able to provide my clients.
He's a thoughtful and patient teacher and has always made himself available to me whenever I had a question, whether about SketchUp, rendering softwares, or the 3D design business in general. I would highly recommend his classes to anyone seeking to increase their knowledge or standards in regard to 3D modeling and rendering."

Frequently Asked Questions
Â
What is the FRAME Workflow Studio?
FRAME Workflow Studio is a guided implementation experience designed to help you build a cleaner, more professional SketchUp workflow from setup to final deliverables.
You’ll work through the FRAME Workflow with a clear path to follow, early access to new lessons, live support, and two private 1:1 sessions with Dan Brown.
This is not just a course library. It is a guided cohort built around applying the workflow to real SketchUp projects and real-world design challenges.
Who is the FRAME Workflow Studio for?
The Studio is for SketchUp users who want a more reliable way to move through projects.
It is a good fit if you:
- Feel like your SketchUp process is scattered
- Have watched tutorials but still struggle to apply what you learn
- Want cleaner models and better organization
- Need help with setup, modeling structure, scenes, revisions, or deliverables
- Want direct guidance from an experienced SketchUp trainer
- Want to build a workflow you can use again and again
The Studio is designed for designers, architects, educators, contractors, design-build professionals, exhibit designers, landscape designers, and serious SketchUp users who want a more professional process.
What makes FRAME different?
FRAME is not just a list of SketchUp tools. It is a workflow for moving through real projects with more clarity and control. Instead of jumping from one tutorial to another, FRAME helps you understand what to do next: how to set up your file, build cleanly, create useful views, manage revisions, and prepare final deliverables. The Studio gives you guidance while you apply that workflow.
Do I need to be advanced in SketchUp?
No. The Studio is designed for beginner to intermediate SketchUp users who want better structure, cleaner workflows, and support while they improve.
If you are newer to SketchUp, you’ll start with the Foundation step of FRAME. If you already know the basics, you can focus on the areas that matter most to your work, such as modeling structure, scenes, revisions, LayOut, presentation views, or final deliverables.
Is this live or self-paced?
It is both. You’ll work through the FRAME Workflow at your own pace, but you will not be doing it alone. The Studio includes a guided path, live cohort sessions, Project Clinics, community support, and two private 1:1 sessions with Dan. The goal is to give you flexibility while still providing structure, momentum, and support.
What is included with the Studio?
Your Studio registration includes:
- Access to the FRAME Workflow course materials during the cohort
- Early access to new FRAME lessons as they are released
- A guided path through the workflow
- Live cohort sessions
- Community support
- Two private 1:1 sessions with Dan
- Downloadable workflow checklists and practice resources
- A final workflow review
The focus is not just watching lessons. The focus is helping you apply the workflow to your own SketchUp process.
What will I be able to do by the end?
By the end of the Studio, the goal is for you to have a clearer, more repeatable SketchUp workflow. You’ll understand how to move through a project from setup to modeling, scenes, revisions, presentation views, and final deliverables.
You should leave with a more dependable process for opening a SketchUp file, knowing where to start, keeping your model organized, creating useful views, managing changes, and preparing outputs for review or presentation.
What happens in the two private 1:1 sessions?
The first 1:1 session is your Workflow Starting Point session.
Dan will help you look at where you are now, what types of projects you work on, what tends to get messy or frustrating, and where you should focus inside the FRAME Workflow.
The second 1:1 session is your Workflow Review session.
Near the end of the Studio, you’ll review your progress, your setup, your model organization, your scenes, your deliverables, or the part of the workflow that matters most for your work.
You’ll leave each session with clear next steps.
Will I work on my own project?
You can. You may follow along with practice files, while others may apply the FRAME Workflow to their own SketchUp projects.
The best approach depends on your experience level and goals. During your first 1:1 session, Dan can help you decide where to focus.
What if I do not have a project to work on?
That is okay. You can still work through the Studio using practice files, examples, and guided exercises. The goal is to help you understand the workflow so you can apply it when your next project comes along.
If you are not sure what to use, Dan can help you choose a starting point during your first 1:1 session.
How is this different from the Learning Pass?
The Learning Pass is self-paced access to SketchUp Trainer courses and ongoing support.
FRAME Workflow Studio is a guided implementation experience. The Studio gives you a clear summer path, live cohort structure, early access to new FRAME lessons, two private 1:1 sessions, and direct guidance as you build your workflow.
If you already have the Learning Pass, you do not need to purchase it again. You’ll be able to join the Studio at a preferred member upgrade rate.
I’m already a Learning Pass member. Can I join?
Yes. Current Learning Pass members are able to join FRAME Workflow Studio at a preferred rate.
Since you already have access to the course library, your Studio upgrade focuses on the guided cohort experience, early access to the new FRAME lessons, live sessions, implementation support, and two private 1:1 sessions with Dan.
Will I keep access to the lessons after the Studio ends?
Your ongoing access depends on your registration type and membership status. If your Studio registration includes continued Learning Pass access, you’ll keep access according to those terms. If you are already an active Learning Pass member, you’ll continue to receive course access and updates as part of your membership.
What software do I need?
SketchUp Pro for desktop is recommended. The Studio is built around professional SketchUp workflows, and some sections may include LayOut, scenes, styles, exports, and presentation workflows that are best supported in SketchUp Pro. A three-button scroll-wheel mouse is also strongly recommended.
Is this for SketchUp for iPad or SketchUp Go?
The Studio is designed primarily for SketchUp Pro on Mac or PC.
Some concepts may apply to other versions of SketchUp, but the guided workflow, examples, and support will be focused on the desktop version.
What if I cannot attend every live session?
That is okay. The Studio is designed to be flexible. You’ll have a guided path to follow at your own pace, and live sessions will be recorded. Your two private 1:1 sessions will also help you stay focused on the parts of the workflow that matter most for your work.
How much time should I expect to spend each week?
Plan for about 1–3 hours per week, depending on your goals and experience level. Some weeks may involve watching lessons and practicing a specific workflow. Other weeks may involve applying what you learn to your own project. You can move at your own pace, but you’ll get the most value if you set aside regular time to work through the material and apply it.
Is this private training?
Not exactly. Private training is fully customized around your schedule, team, and project needs. FRAME Workflow Studio is a guided cohort with a defined path, live support, community support, and two private 1:1 sessions.
If you want a structured way to improve your SketchUp workflow with some personal guidance, the Studio is a strong fit. If you need fully customized training for a team or deadline-specific project, private training may be a better option.
Can teams join?
Yes, but the Studio is currently designed around individual registration.
If you are interested in enrolling multiple team members, please contact us so we can recommend the best option. Depending on your goals, a team training package may be a better fit.
Will there be a certificate of completion?
Yes. Participants who complete the Studio will receive a certificate of completion. This can be useful for professional development, continuing education records, employer reimbursement, or your own documentation.
Is this refundable?
Please review the refund and cancellation policy before registering. Once the Studio begins, refunds may be limited or unavailable due to the guided nature of the program and access to digital materials.
Is this right for me if I only need help with one specific issue?
Maybe. If that issue is part of a larger pattern — messy files, unclear setup, difficult revisions, inconsistent views, or trouble getting to final deliverables — the Studio is a great long-term fit because it helps you build a stronger overall workflow.
